My latest Polyvore set

I've been hooked on Polyvore lately, I can spend hours on there putting things together and finding items. Just wanted to share the set I made just a little bit ago...

LOVE

Let me know what you think!

I still need to get used to things on there and learn how to put them in different formations because some people's sets on there are just WOW. I love browsing through them!

Do you use polyvore?

It's Christmas Eve! :)

Have you heard of BzzAgent?

Bzzagent is a site that is word of mouth marketing.
I have been a bzzagent for almost a year now and I really love it! You fill out surveys so they know what you're interested in and if you qualify for a bzzcampaign then you may get to try out products that are either not out yet or are new to the market. I have gotten the opportunity to test out products from clean and clear, Burt's bees and L'oreal. They just ask that you share your opinions by submitting a report. You can also follow brands you love and add content about products you've tried and earn points to have more benefits. There's also a section where you can visit different websites, fill out a survey and share you thoughts on it that also gives you points. These points or "honeycombs" help you climb the ladder for earlier campaign invites. It might sound a little complicated but I promise you it's not and it's worth it!

Some info about Bzzagent:

We're a word-of-mouth media network powered by 600,000 people. We pair consumers with products and supply digital tools that make widespread opinion-sharing easy.

-We were founded in 2001

-We've run 600+ programs for major brands including Unilever, Kraft and Philips

-Our participants have spread word of mouth to nearly 100 million family and friends

-We've received 2 million reports submitted detailing first-hand brand-related conversations

The Bzzagent's word of mouth network:

Our word-of-mouth network is powered by our 600,000 socially connected Agents. Located throughout the US, Canada and the UK, our growing community is comprised of consumers who are:*

Viral: Twice as likely as the general public to recommend products and services
Tuned In: Twice as likely as the average consumer to keep up with a broad range of products and services

Leaders: Four times as likely to qualify as a Conversation Catalyst™ as the total public

Networked: Twice as many friends, neighbors and acquaintances as the general public

Our Agents are eager to try new products and share their opinions throughout their social networks. But our members do more than increase awareness about your products. Their honest recommendations add a layer of trust that's absent in traditional media. BzzAgent's word of mouth network can offer something that no other medium can: credibility.

I am in no way being compensated for telling you about this site, I just wanted to share some info on it for some of you out there that would like to test out some great products and share your thoughts on it!

NOTW and tips for cuticles

Hey Everyone!!

I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for Christmas! I spent almost the whole weekend shopping with my fam finishing up our gift shopping. It was crazy busy everywhere and I'm so glad it's done! But anyways, I just wanted to share my nails for the week. I couldn't decide on a color so I just went with black, I might change it soon though.

I used L.A. Colors base coat, Pure Ice in Black Rage and L.A. Girl Diamond Strength top coat.

Now let's talk a little about cuticles...first here's what I use to care for them:

I think it's really important to take care of your cuticles because they prevent those little hangnails that form in the sides of your nails. If you've gotten one before then you know they can be painful especially removing them. Before I actually paint my nails I take some cuticle oil on a q-tip and apply it to each cuticle then massage it in for a few seconds. Then I take the metal cuticle pusher shown above and very gently push my cuticles back, I think this way is better than cutting them off you do have to do it often but I don't really mind. I also prefer the metal pusher to orange sticks just because it's reusable just sanitize and it's ready to go. During the week I always use cuticle cream (Thank you Linea!) just take a little bit and apply it, it keeps them soft. That's pretty much all I do. It just takes a few extra minutes and it's totally worth it!

How do you care for your cuticles? I would love to hear your tips!

Hey Everyone! OK so this is a HUGE step for me because I never like seeing myself on camera and never thought I would even make a video but here I am. I'm just trying this out for now and I'm not sure if I'll keep on doing it so that's why I didn't upload it to YT but yeah...

I'm just going to warn you now, I keep looking around because I knew what I wanted to say and was trying to remember lol. I also seem kind of blah at times too because this was the 10th time I filmed this. OK I'll stop now and just let you watch!

NOTW and Nail Tip

First I wanted to say hi and a big THANK YOU to all my new followers! :)

This is my nails for the week. I used Sinful Colors in Creamy Pink, it's one of my faves from them. It's a really nice bright pink with the tiniest bit of shimmer. LOVE. I forgot to take a pic the day I painted them so that's why they look a tiny bit worn.

Nail Tip:

Do you ever have those times when you're painting your nails and it seems to get all around the nail no matter how hard you try not to get it there? Well I used to always use q-tips to clean it up but I always found that they didn't allow me to get close enough to the nail to really get all the polish off. So now I use a brush instead, one that has synthetic bristles and is really small. I just dip it in a little acetone and clean everything up, it works so much better than q-tips and you also don't have to worry about cotton fibers getting on your polish either!

Do any of you do this already?

Black Friday and Target haul

Hello Beautifuls!!

Sorry it's been almost a week since I last posted but I'm back with my very small black Friday haul and a Target haul I did just a few days ago. I didn't get too much for myself so that's why both of these hauls are small but yeah...

These cute purple booties are from kohl's they were a door buster for $12.99. They are so comfy, I love them! I just wish I would have got the other colors.

At Target I got some HK pens and highlighters from the dollar section and they had these deal packs on make up so I picked up a 2 pack of the Loreal Double Extend beauty tubes mascara for $9.99.

Also at Target I finally found this purse. It had to have been over a month ago Van posted a pic of this purse on Twitter and asked if she should get it but I was too late in replying, but ever since I wanted it so bad. I went to so many Target's and they never had it, so on Monday when I stopped by another one there it was. I had to have it!!

So there they are, I know only one thing was make up but I still wanted to share!

Did any of you ladies take advantage of the black Friday sales? Or did you opt for cyber Monday instead?

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I just wanted to wish all of you a happy turkey day!! I hope you all eat lots and lots until you can't eat no more!

Mascara mishap and Teeny haul

Hey my loves!!

I hope you all had a great weekend! On Saturday night I was getting ready and I went to put on my mascara and this is what it looked like:

Gross huh?! That's my Loreal extra volume collagen mascara. What happened was when I went to go open it it wouldn't unscrew and it was really hard to twist. When it finally came loose and opened the stopper popped off and was stuck in the cap. There's no way to get it out. The wand was just open to all the product so this is how it looked when I took it out. I've never had this happen before.

So, since I used up my other mascara and this was all I had I went to get another real quick. This is what I picked up:

It's the Hard Candy Ginormous lash volumizing mascara. I've only used it twice so I still don't have a set opinion on it but it has potential so we'll see!

Just thought I would share that real quick just in case it might happen to any of you that use the Loreal mascara.

'till next post...

Review: Sally Girl blushes

It's the weekend again! I don't have anything planned, I'm trying to save my money for black Friday. Anyways, here's a little review for you all!

What it claims: Sally girl blush gives you a fresh, sexy look.

Where you can buy it:
Only at Sally beauty supply

Price:
$1.99 or $1.89 with your sally club card

Colors available:
C-ya, Frenemy and Flushed

My Rating:
4.5 peace signs

The Good:
These are the blushes I tend to use the most especially on days where I need just a little something on my cheeks. They aren't extremely pigmented but they definitely build very well and blend out easily. I think they are a great buy especially for the price.

The Bad:
If you're a frequent blush user these might run out fast for you since they are only .16oz which is pretty small.

Overall:
I really like these cute little blushes and I think they are definitely worth a try.

Below are some swatches so you can see the color comparisons.

Left to right: Flushed, C-ya and Frenemy

*Swiped about 3-4 times each*

If you have any questions on something I might have left out, ask away!

Have any of you ladies tried this blush? How did you like it?

*Just MY opinion/experience with this product. It could or could not work the same for you, you never know!*

My go-to face and NOTW

Hey Everyone!!

First I wanted to say a big hello and thank you to my new followers!! :D

I hope you're all having a good week so far! I can't wait for Friday because I'm going to see NEW MOON! hahah I'm not overly excited just yet only cuz it's been a blah time for me lately so yeah...

OK so I just wanted to share a look that I always tend to do when I don't have much time or just need something quick.

Products used to get this look:

MAC Paint Pot in layin low

MAC Eye shadows in Llama, Texture and Brown Script

Loreal Carbon black lineur intense

Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil in Zero

Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

MAC brow wax in clear

Sweet Sweets brow pencil in NF4

MAC prep+prime face

MAC studio fix powder

Sally girl blush in C-ya

Watermelon lip smackers

NYX Mega shine lip gloss in Beige

Since I do this look a lot the products have gone down to just this list and I can get it done in about 10 mins so it's really easy.

OK on to my NOTW I know that this color was in my last one but I'm just really loving it right now but to change it up slightly I did a little purple zebra-ish design. It's just something simple so yeah...

I used:

Pure Ice in Kiss me here

L.A colors Art Deco in Magenta

Review: Aussie hair insurance leave-in conditioner

First I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all my followers both current and new. The current ones because you kept following even while I was on my little "in between" stage and the new ones for supporting me now that I'm back! I truly appreciate each and every one of you! :)

On to the review...

What it Claims: A true work-a-holic, this leave-in conditioner, accented with Australian Silk Protein, puts in overtime to keep hair strong.

Married to it's job. Burning the midnight oil. Any way you put it (which should be in your hair). Hair insurance leave-in conditioner spray is always working hard to ward off hair-related accidents.

Directions: Spray into clean, damp hair. Do that thing you do to your 'do, but don't rinse.

Where you can buy it: Most drugstores, Wal-mart, Target, Ulta and anywhere else Aussie products are sold.

Price: $2.99-$3.99

My Rating: 4 Peace Signs

The Good: I did this post forever ago HERE and I talked about how I used regular detangler after the shower so my hair was more manageable and even though I do still love that product, I wanted something that had a few more benefits to it. This leave-in conditioner detangles, smooths and smells SO good it has a coconutty fruity scent to it if that makes sense lol. I always get tangles in my hair no matter how good of a conditioner I use in the shower so using something like this after is a must for me. It doesn't leave any sticky-ness or buildup and what I love most is that there isn't any oily residue which my hair doesn't need. During the summer my hair took a beating while I was on vacation because I forgot this but as soon as I came home and used it again my hair was very grateful and looks as well as feels much better.

The Bad: I know you're supposed to trim your hair every so often to prevent split ends but because my hair takes so long to grow I go a little while longer than usual so I was hoping this would prolong the process and not make my split ends any worse but as far as I could tell it wasn't doing anything for that. That was really the only thing I could see wrong with it.

Overall: I'm on my second bottle right now so that just says that I LOVE this! It's a must in my hair routine.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

*Just my opinion/experience with this product. It may or may not work you, you never know!*

FOTD: Cut crease with pink lip

Hey everyone!!

I can't believe it's already November, even though it really doesn't feel like it here in Vegas. The weather has been so weird last week it was freezing and now this week we're back in the 80's idk what's going on!

Anywayz...I've been doing just the minimum lately when it comes to make up because I just haven't had time to do much more but I finally got around to doing a full on look. This is a neutral cut crease that I paired with a bright lip.

Here it is...

I'm only showing one eye closed because the lighting wasn't working with me and the left eye always looked way dark.

Full face shot...

What I used to get this look:

MAC Paint pot in Layin low

NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk

MAC Ricepaper as browbone highlight

MAC Llama all over lid

Jane Colorstick in True original

MAC Cork as crease color

MAC Prep+Prime Skin

MAC Studio fix powder

Sally Girl blush in Frenemy

MAC Vanilla pigment as highlight

Wet n Wild lipliner in Fab fuschia

MAC lipstick in Passionate

MAC lustreglass in Love nectar

Revlon intensifying lashes

Let me know what you think!

NOTW: Kiss me here

I haven't done one of these in so long! So, here's my nails this week...

I used Sally Hansen Nail Protex as a base coat, Pure Ice in Kiss me here and Revlon Sealing Shine as a topcoat.

I've worn this polish about 3 times and love it more and more each time. It's different for me since I'm mostly attracted to bright colors but it's definitely a keeper!

Nail Tip:

Do you sometimes find that your polish chips off really fast and you don't know why??

Take a q-tip and dip it in pure acetone and rub it on each of your nails lightly, this will take off any oils you may have on your nails and give a smooth clean surface for the polish.

I've been doing this for awhile and it works really good! I know that acetone is harsh but I haven't noticed any dryness or damage to my nails since doing this.

*You can also use regular polish remover, I just found that acetone worked better for me*

So, maybe that tip will help some of you!

If you already do this or try it, I would love to hear how it works for you!

Review: Loreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara

*Lack of sleep and having a oddly packed weekend kept me away from blogging but here's a review for you all!! *

What it claims: Most revolutionary lash plumping technology with hydra-collagen for breathtaking volume and incredible wear.

Hydra-collagen complex formula. The luxurious buildable formula infused with collagen plumps lashes from the inside. Glides on smoothly and lasts all day with 12x more impact. No flakes, smudges or clumps.

-Clump free
-Flake free
-Smudge free
-Ophthamologist and allergy tested.
-Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

*All information came from package.

Where you can buy it: Target, Wal-Mart, CVS, Ulta, K-mart and anywhere else Loreal products are sold.

Price: $5.99-$7.99 depending on where you purchase it.

My Rating: 2 peace signs

The Good: I personally love mascara's with big brushes so this one was ideal. Despite what I didn't like about it, it actually did hold a curl and the volume it gave my lashes was pretty good. It also washed off really easily with make up remover or a wipe.

The Bad: The formula really sucked for me everything it claimed to be didn't live up. The clumps that formed on my lashes were crazy and even though I loved the brush I think it was a huge factor in the clumps because of how much product it picked up at one time. After every few uses when you take out the wand you can see a large amount of product sitting on the end of the brush so I could imagine how much is actually on the bristles ready to clump all over my lashes. It also flaked off within a few hours of wear and well as give me little black rings right under my lower lashes.

Overall: I didn't really like it as much as I wanted to. It's too bad because I thought with all it claimed it had potential to be one of my favorites.

*Just MY opinion/thoughts on this product. You never know it might work for YOU*

Weekend Recap and My first lush haul

I know I'm a day late but...how was every one's weekend??

Saturday was my mom's birthday and no one knew what to do so we just kinda played it by ear. It stared off with dinner then we out of the blue decided to go to Mandalay Bay to check it out since it's one of the casino's none of us have to been to yet. I was especially excited because I knew it was where our only lush store is. That casino was really pretty, there's so many restaurants there I want to try out! I didn't take pics that day I just kept forgetting which sux but yeah...

So let me just say that I had heard so much hype about lush and wanted to try certain things but just kinda brushed it off after awhile when I got into trying other products instead but once I was actually in the store and got to see everything and test stuff out I was in love! They were having a twilight party that day too it was funny cuz they had this cardboard Edward figure standing there next to these soaps called "Forks Rain" that smelled kinda minty to me and all these girls were taking pics with "Edward" like he was real haha.

This is what I got...

Left to Right: Coalface cleansing bar, Tea Tree Water toner and two samples of ocean salt and herbalism.

I thought this label was way cute it says "Viva Lush Vegas" haha.

On a different shopping trip I got this hello kitty I love nerds over sized coin purse!

So yep that was it, I started using the coalface cleanser and tea tree water already and so far I like it but it's too soon to tell if it's working for my skin or not so as soon as I start seeing any changes I'll update on that!

I also got a new haircut yesterday but haven't gotten around to taking pics of it but I will soon, so be on the look out!

I'm back! (for now) and update on mee

Hey Everyone!! I missed each and every one of you soooooo much!!

So, I had pretty much decided a couple months back that I was done with blogging and I would move on to other things, but ever since I made that new twitter and I was still talking to a few of my beauty babes I've been wanting to come back. A huge thing that is stopping me though is the fact that I'll be starting school soon and I'm not sure how much time I'll have to post and I don't wanna just disappear again. I do think I'll give it a try for awhile and see how things go. Since I've been gone as long as I have though I'm sure I won't have as many readers as I used to but that's ok with me. I really just want to get back into sharing my thoughts on products and doing some looks and stuff like that.

Well here's goes nothin...

(Just for the sake of posting a pic here's me with my two cousins Aerial and Aliyah)

Saturday, August 29, 2009

Just a quick HELLO!

Mee and the fambam!

Hey Everyone!! Sorry for disappearing on you all but I just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive and doing better. I had decided before to stop blogging altogether but I don't know if I can completely stay away so hopefully soon I can get back into posting but no promises, I will try though! I also wanted to tell you all that I made a new twitter account, you can find me HERE so follow mee!! :D

I hope you ladies are doing awesome!!

'till next time...

It's about that time...

I guess I've pretty much already been on one but I've decided to go on a hiatus for awhile. I never have time to post anything or just don't have the motivation so I think it would be better if I just came back when my head is back in it like before.

Also I'm leaving friday to go back "home" to San Diego. I'm gonna just get away, visit my family and clear my mind. I really really need it more than anything right now.

Take Care Ladies. Hopfully I'll be back to blogging soon.

They come in 7's: My fave hair shtufff

I haven't done one of my 7's lists in awhile so here's the products I'm totally loving right now. A few of these I talked about awhile back in individual posts but yeah...

1. Aveeno Nourish and Volumize Shampoo and Conditioner. I absolutely LOVE this stuff!!! It's like a miracle for my hair. I have pretty flat hair and have used other volumizing shampoo's/conditioners but none of them gave me the results I've gotten with these. I first heard about this line from Tammy and since I love Aveeno products to begin with I knew I had to try their new hair care line so I sent off for a sample. After using that I was sold I had to get the full sizes and ever since they haven't let me down. My hair is so soft and has the perfect amount of added volume that it never does unless I tease and hairspray it like crazy. I'm so glad I started to use this line I'm totally not going back to anything else for a very long time.

2. Johnson's No More Tangles Detangler. I did a post on this as a tip of the week not too long ago but I have to keep spreading my love for it! This stuff is a must have for after a shower I spray it on and run a wide toothed comb through my hair easily. It cuts down the breakage I would get without it and smells really good too.

3. Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. I can't express how fabulous this serum is! It cuts down my blow drying time, protects my hair from the heat, tames flyaways and doesn't weigh down or make my hair extra greasy. I love it most because it's a all in one and I minimized all the products I used to put it in place of using this one. Huge bonus: it smells AMAZING!

4. Pantene Texture&Shine Defining Pomade. I've been using this pomade for years especially back when the "pouf" was my everyday hairstyle. Now that I sort of that aside I use this to keep my bangs in place and give my hair a little piecey effect. It's just the right consistency and has that slight tackyness that is just right for doing those things. A little also goes a long way so the little jar lasts a long time.

5. Bed Head After Party. I've been using this for years and it never lets me down, my hair just doesn't feel right without it. It smooths my hair and gives it a little shine too ohhh and it smells SOOOOOOO good I could eat it lol.

6. Salon Grafix Freezing hair spray. If I need some good hold I always go back to this hairspray no matter what, it's cheap, doesn't make my hair all hard and crunchy it's perfect for when you want huge hair and want it to stay all day.

7. Boar Bristle Teasing brush. I don't know what I did before I had this! I never knew teasing could be this easy. When I want extra huge hair I always use this, a few backcombs and I'm good.

So there's my list. If you any questions about these products that I didn't really describe just let me know!

Neeyuh's tip of the week

I totally miss blogging so I'm gonna try to get back into posting more so I'll start with one of my tips for now...

Ever run out of shaving cream/gel and don't know what to use?? Well a couple months ago my bestie told me that she tried using conditioner in place of shaving gel and I remembered reading something about that in a magazine also so I thought why not try it.So not until about a month ago I found myself out of shaving gel and thought well I have this conditioner here, it's time to try it! Well let me tell you that it really does work and I LOVE it!

I don't know about everyone else but I always end up with leftover conditioners from when I was once using it and started something new and what better way to put it to good use then use it for an alternative to shaving gel?! I find the best thing to do is take a good amount and rub it in your hands for a few seconds to warm it up to make it easier to spread then just apply it to the area your going to shave, then shave away! One thing that may be a bad thing for some is that you might have to rinse off your shaver more frequently because conditioner tends to have a thicker formula and can buildup on the blades. Other than that though it works totally awesome and leaves your skin super super smooth afterwards. I've been using this for the past month and haven't had any bad reactions, breakouts, rashes or anything so I really really love it!

I know some of you might already do this or heard of it but I thought it was a really great thing to share since it's like shaving gel in a pinch.

Let me know if any of you try this and how it works out for you!

NOTW and Hair Flower blog

Ok so it's been awhile again...I know, I know. But here's my nails this week I can't get enough of the zebra nail design so here it is again.

I used The Icing nail polish in Cosmo Cutie and Black art deco. I did this on my toes too but I won't show you that lol.

Also, I finally decided to do a blog for the hair flowers I make and sell them through there for awhile before actually making a store. Pretty much a trial run to test things out so yeah. So if you wanna check that out please click HERE.
