EOTD: Sweet V-day look

I'm going to be doing a few Valentines day looks since I never have before and thought it would be fun. So here's my "sweet look"...

Products Used to get this look:

UDPP

MAC layin' low paint pot

MAC eye shadow in Beauty Sleep

MAC pigment in Pink Pearl

MAC eye shadow in Sushi Flower

Icing eye shadow in Red

MAC eye shadow in Girlie

MAC eye shadow in Ricepaper

Loreal Carbon black lineur intense

Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara

MAC technakohl eyeliner in Graphblack

I tried to do something a little different with layering colors and I like how it came out. I really LOVE how pink pearl looks it's pretty versitile, I should use it more.

Be on the look out for my other v-day looks!

Neeyuh's got ALOT on her mind...

Ok so I'm sorry in advance but this isn't going to be makeup/beauty related it's pretty much just gonna be mee venting because I know some of you might understand what I'm going through. I promise later today there will be a regular post, most likely a FOTD/EOTD since it's been a little since I did one...

Well I mentioned this awhile back but it's been on my mind again. School. I for the longest time could never decide what I wanted to do with my life, everyone always told me go to cosmetology school because they said it was just me like no other job suited me but me being the overthinker that I am thought well maybe that's a good idea but maybe I could do something else. Well wayyyy too much time has past and I NEED to make a decision NOW. I'm planning on moving to another state soon (hopefully, maybe) it's all up in the air right now. Doing this blog and thinking back before it I've come to realize that the only thing I'm going to be happy doing is makeup or anything that has to do with beauty. No other job out there is going to make me happy. I've thought about being so many other things and always come back to makeup. My problem is...I'm not sure if I should just take the whole cosmetology course for a year or just do the esthetician program which is 4 months. I might have more options for jobs doing the cosmetology course but then I think gosh that's another year I'll be 24 by the time I graduate and get licensed and I just feel so late like if I knew this was what I wanted to do all along I should have done this years ago. But I let life take over and didn't stop to do what I really wanted. I guess better late then never though.

If you ladies could give me your input about what you think or anything else I would love to hear it. Have any of you done either of these programs, do you think it's worth it? I know here in Vegas they won't take you seriously unless you've gone to school and I do feel there is a lot I still need to learn. I'm just totally at a loss right now.

Ok enough biatching for now...

Ohhh and just for the sake of posting a picture, here's a kinda old pic of me when I went a little crazy with the hair dye, lol.

Review: Sephora makeup-removing wipes

What it Claims: Cleanses and removes all types of makeup, even long-wearing makeup, without leaving any oily effect. For face, eyes and lips. Results are clear, fresh and soft skin. Suitable for even the most sensitive eyes, including contact lens wearers. Dermatologically and opthalmologically tested.

How to use: Lift the plastic lid, remove a wipe and apply to face, eyes and lips. No need to rinse. To avoid all risk of drying, immediately close the plastic lid after using wipes.

Price: $10 for 25 wipes

Where you can buy it: Only at Sephora and Sephora.com

My Rating: 4 peace signs

The Good: I love that the wipes are really large and smell good, a sort of fresh scent. Just like they claim there is no oily residue left over. It really gets all the face makeup off. I personally use these before I wash my face to make sure all the makeup gets removed. The package is small and convenient for travel or to just throw in your purse.

The Bad: It says they take off all makeup but for me none of my eye makeup came off at all and I didn't want to have to push really hard or scrub it hard. So these just basically take off face makeup only (foundations, powders, bronzers, etc.). The cost is also a downside for me, $10 for only 25 wipes is kind of not worth it but since I really like them it might not be too bad in the end.

Overall: I really really like these right now. I wish they had a textured wipe, I would like them even more. For the most part I just like the convenience of wipes and for me it's hard to find a wipe that doesn't irritate my skin or leave a oily film and since these do neither of those things it's a big plus. I would recommend these if you like to use wipes to remove your face makeup, but I wouldn't say they are totally essential since they don't remove eye makeup.

*Just MY opinion of this product. *

Neeyuh's hair tip of the week

As a way to step up my posts (which Mona gave me the idea for, thank you sooo much!!) I thought a weekly series of tips and tricks would be a good addition. I'll be doing other tips as well such as makeup, nails, etc. So, here's tip number one...

After a shower do you ever have really tangled hair?? I know with me no matter how good a conditioner I still have tangles galore and can't stand to comb through it and hear the breaks. Well those days are over since I started to use this:

I know what you might be thinking...a hair detangler for babies?? but I kid you not this works wonders. A few sprays through your hair and those tangles are loosened. The spray is light, smells great and doesn't change your hair in any way. No sticky residue feeling or heaviness just soft, detangled and pretty smelling hair. The biggest perk about this...the price. I picked mine up at walmart for about $2.50. It lasts a long time too, I've used mine almost everyday for a month and not even half is gone. You can also use this on dry hair. For me, this is great addition to my hair routine.

Hope my tip helps as least one of you, it makes it worth it!! =)

Nails of the week...or two.

I try to paint my nails every week but sometimes I wait two if they still look ok. I decided on this color because I seen the beauty babe we all know (or should) Van's post where she painted her nails in China Glaze Coconut Kiss and I have the same one. It made me miss it since I haven't used it since right after I got it. I threw on a flower sticker too and it was hard to take off the little sheet it was on, I thought I was mess all my nails up just trying to get it off! lol. Thanks for the inspiration VAN!! =)

What do you think of this kind of post? Should I start to include it in my weekly posts?

Enjoy your monday's ladies!!

Experimental look and My creative side...

I hope you're all having a nice and relaxing sunday!!

I was bored and felt like trying something new.

So, tell mee what cha think!!

Who would've thunk I had an artsy fartsy side??! lol.

Last year I started to realize that I like to make things, mostly artsy stuff even though I can't draw or paint or anything but I learned how to make these hair flowers:

I went pretty crazy and made like tons of them. I guess I didn't know how to "market" them well because I tried to sell them and only had a few orders. I'm thinking about getting a booth for an upcoming hawaiian festival to sell them there, but I'm not sure yet. I've also been into collages lately and made one for my wall, it's only partly done for now but when it's complete I might post a pic for you all to see. I also tried to teach myself to crochet and it hasn't gone well, I think I just need to practice more though. But yeah...just thought I would share that little fact about mee.

Enjoy the rest of your sunday ladies!!

They come in 7's

The oh so lovely Aya said she liked my "7 deadly lippies" post and suggested other similar posts with different products would be cool too. So, here's a new list of my favorite things to put on those killer faces beauties!! Thank You AYA-CHAN!!!

So, what am I totally loving right now???

1. Sephora brand makeup removing wipes. On the package it says it takes off all makeup but I like to just swipe one of these over my face before I wash it every night. Their pretty big and smell good too.

2. MAC prep+prime face. I've been waiting to try this primer for a long time and let me just say it has been my oily skin's friend! I was previously using the one with SPF and I find that this one is lighter and blends in a little better.

3. MAC bronzing powder . When it comes to my face there's just some things I didn't do, until now. I've taken up contouring because I seen how it effects the face. I like this particular one because it blends easily and can be further blended if you accidentally put too much. It also has a very tiny yet pretty hint of shimmer.

4. Queen Helene Apricot Moisturizing Mask. Since winter started and it's been oddly cold here my skin has been extra dry so about a month ago I started to add this to my skin care routine. I use it about 2-3 times a week depending on how dry my skin is that week. It has improved a lot and I haven't gotten really dry in awhile.

5.Neutrogena Deep Clean dual action toner. I did a review on this here and I'm currently on the third bottle. I just love how clean and fresh it makes my skin feel.

6. MAC pigment in Provence. It's not considered a "face" product but I like to use it as a highlighter for my face. It has a pretty shimmer to it that isn't too strong and just gives that nice light.

7. Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Scrub. Everyone needs a good exfoliater and so far this one is working really well. After about a month of using it I barely have blackheads around my nose which was the problem area. The beads aren't too harsh, they give just the right amount of exfoliation.

Do any of you ladies use these products?? What do you think of them??

If anyone would like full reviews on any of the products on my list, let me know!!

Random Stuff...

Sorry I've MIA these past couple days, our Internet was acting up and then last night it went out completely and I had to call the company and they said our wireless connection was hacked and they downloaded programs with copyright infringements on them and blah, blah, blah. So, today it finally got fixed and I'm just getting all caught up on commenting and all.

Anywayz....

I went shopping today and stopped in Borders and this is what I got...

I felt like I was standing there for hours looking through all the beauty books they had and since I've heard lots about this one I really wanted to check it out. Out of all the ones I looked at this one was the best, it really has lots of info in it. I know there's been lots of blog posts about this lately but if any of you have any questions about this book just let me know!!

Ummm, what else? I did a look today but forgot to take pics and when I got home it looked a mess so I said forget it, I'll do a few to make up for it.

Do any of you watch this???

It's one of those stupid, funny but addictive shows. Like when I first put it on I was like okay?? but then I couldn't stop watching it. I wanted to see what happened next. It's like a more dramatic guy version of a shot at love with tila tequila except they aren't finding love their seeing how messed up their relationships are. lol. but yeah...

I guess that's pretty much it for my randomness, I better go work on some makeup/beauty related posts now!

Later Beautifuls!!

The Icing Eye Shadows

Hi everyone!! I hope you all had an awesome weekend! I relaxed most of mine. I just wanted to do a quick post on these, so here we go...

* All swatches were done with no base, one swipe through each. *

I never would have thought that eye shadows from an accessory store would be good but these totally impress me. As you can see from the swatches they are really pigmented and the pans are huge at .13oz/3.6 grams. Most of them are eye shadows but the blue and copper ones have the consistency of a pressed pigment. At first they can be a tiny bit flaky but once you get past that first layer they become more smooth and easy to apply. I don't feel I need a colored base with any of them since they do have a good amount of pigmentation.

You can buy these at The Icing Store, they retail for $3.50-$4.50 each and they always have the BOGO 50% off sales just like the nail polishes I posted about before.

These also didn't have much information out there about them so I just described them the best I could for you all.

If you have any questions about anything I might have left out, just let me know!!

I'll be doing some looks with these soon so look out for those!

Hair Products that don't float my boat.

I like that title, lol. Well I was going through the cabinet in my bathroom and came across some hair products I no longer use for various reasons and thought it would be a good post to share. So, here they are...

I know a lot of you may disagree with me on this one, but for my particular hair type this stuff did nothing for me. I tried it for weeks with no differance and even left it on for longer than the 3 minutes and everytime my hair was extra greasy all over to the point where I had to rewash it. Don't get me wrong I love lots of other products from Aussie and thought I would love this too but it just didn't work.

I was stuck on Big Sexy Hair for a long time but times got hard and I needed a cheaper alternative so I turned to this. It sounded promising and I heard from a few people I worked with at the time that they loved it, so I gave it a try. At first I thought "oh wow this is actually really great". Well, I spoke too soon. About and hour or so later my hair was flat and full of white flakes, it was soooooo nasty! I did give it another try though and used it on a day I was doing the "pouf" and yet again it disappointed me. My pouf went flat and there again was tons of white flakes. So in this case cheaper was not better.

Ok so I really don't even get how this works. It says it defrizzes, smoothes and instantly restyles hair. It does none of those three for my hair. I spray it on and it's just like I'm spraying a citrus scented water on my hair and it's just getting damp and nothing else. I read reviews of people raving about this product and figured since I have an oily scalp and it's not good to wash my everyday I would use this as a restyler to refresh my hair on the second day, well it just made my hair even more greasy and defeated the purpose so I had to end up washing my hair anyway. I LOVE LOVE LOVE bed head products but this one was a total fail for me.

I tend to have a lot of flyaways and one of my go to hairstyles is always the pouf so I thought this would be perfect. This is also a product I read reviews of where SO many people loved and sweared by so I thought it would be a great product to try. Not so much, you have to use really little because if you use a lot it makes your hair look like you just poured chicken grease in it and rubbed it around! I guess the reviews I read never mentioned if you have an oily scalp you should avoid this so now I'm stuck with one of those "biggie" sized ones and don't even use it. It's also overly sticky. Like I said before I LOVE bed head products and was totally disappointed that 2 products by them didn't work at all for me.

I noticed a pattern while writing about these, that almost all of them made my hair more greasy, which is really nasty. Sometimes it sux to have the hair type I do but hey what can you do?

How do you ladies feel about these products? Have you used any of them?

If you have any questions about these, just let me know!

With up to 70% more curl full of voluptuous volume, your smouldering eyes will be the envy of every girl in town. Thanks to its unique, curvaceous triple plump brush, the exclusive applicator is shaped to curve in, to maximise lash loading, and out, to curl and separate. The enriched collagen formula containing proteins, vitamins and conditioners that strengthens lashes, amplifies lash volume and fixes curl for up to 16 hours.

Colors Available: Black, Extreme Black and Black Brown.

Price: $6.47 and up. Depending on where you purchase it.

Where you can buy it: Ulta, Walmart, Target and anywhere else Rimmel is sold.

Rating: 4.5 Peace Signs

The Good:I think I have found my new HG. Ok first off I have really stubborn lashes that NEVER hold a curl no matter what, I've tried everything even the heating up the curler with no luck. So, this mascara claims to hold curl up to 16 hours and to my surprise it actually does!! I put this mascara on early in the morning and by that night my lashes still looked like they did when I first applied it. I also really like the brush it's not too big or small and makes it easy to get the corner lashes and bottom lashes. It doesn't have any funky smell like my former favorite (Maybelline Colossal). It also provided a good amount of volume to my lashes which is always a good thing.

The Bad: It dries pretty fast which can cause clumps in between coats so you have to work kinda fast to prevent that but it isn't a big issue to me and the clumps weren't huge and can easily be combed out if you want.

Overall: I really really LOVE it! I only came across it because the store I went to was out of the one I wanted and I seen it and thought it sounded promising.

*Just MY opinion of this product*

So, how does it look on my lashes???

No mascara and curled:

One Coat: Two Coats: Three Coats:

I think it makes a HUGE difference, I forgot to take pictures at the end of the day but believe me when I say that they looked the same as they did in the last picture by that time and I was totally amazed!

I hope you all like this review especially if you were curious about it.

If you have any questions about anything I may have left out, just let me know!

The Icing Nail Polish

I always thought about trying these but never did so on my birthday I finally bought one and have loved it ever since. Then last week I went back and got three more. So here they are...

The Colors: Smooth like butta, Cosmo Cutie, 7th Inning Stretch and Lucky 7.
Cute names right?!

These 4 that I have dry to a matte finish but I do know they have other finishes as well. They dry really fast and if you make mistakes you can't really tell because of the finish it sort of evens out. I really like them though and know that I will definitely be getting more. I do find that with certain colors like the yellow and green you have to build it up and do like 3 coats to get it to the desired color. I also top it with a clear polish to give it shine, you can leave it though if you like the matte effect. The formula is light and easy to spread but not at all watery. The brush is just sligtly stiff so you have good control.
*EDIT: Alyssa reminded me, for me it was close to 2 weeks before it started chipping so it has really good staying power!*

Where can you buy it and for how much???

They are available only at The Icing accessory store for $3.50 each and they always have sales such as BOGO 50% off.

How does it look on??

I didn't do a full on review because there really isn't much info out there about them but if you have any questions on anything I might have left out just let me know and I can try and answer it the best I can for you!

Weekend Haul

First I wanted to thank all you ladies who answered the question I posted the other day, it really helped me out and now I have a bunch of ideas for upcoming posts.

I've been saving a little here and there to try and get some new makeup since I haven't been able to in awhile so yesterday I went shopping and got myself a few things. So, here they are...

I got 2 eye shadows and 3 nail polishes from The Icing, 2 anti-bacterial moisturizing lotions in Sweet Pea and Coconut Lime Verbena (Thanks for showing mee this scent *MISS*!!) from Bath and Body Works, Then I went to MAC and got 2 eye shadows in Humid and Deep Truth and a Lustre glass in Spring Bean.

It isn't that much but I'm happy with it, I can't wait to use it all.

Hope you all had an awesome weekend!!

My Rating: 5+++ Peace Signs.

The Good: Let me just say this stuff is AMAZING!!! My hair hasn't been this healthy in forever. First off it smells like cherries, not overpowering or cheapo smelling either just a nice hint of cherry. It has little beads in it that break up when you massage it into your hair, depending on how long or short your hair is you don't need much but do make sure to really work it into those problem areas such as ends. As your working it in you already can feel how moisturizing it is and after rinsing you can really feel the softness in your hair. Once my hair was dry it was SO soft and felt really moisturized, I didn't see a ton of shine but there was some. Depending on how damaged your hair is you might want to use it more often but I think about 1-2 times a week will really make a difference.

The Bad: The first time I used it, I was thinking "ok, what did it do?" BUT it was because I didn't use enough to see or feel a difference. So, just make sure you use a good enough amount to really get those problem areas. Other than that I have nothing else bad to say about this product.

Overall: I LOVE IT!! I know I will be using this for a very long time, it has really made a difference to how my hair looks. I don't have any frizzies or breakage anymore. I am completely impressed with this product.

Edit: Here's a pic of the actual product...

J.Lynne Cosmetics

I, like a few other beauty bloggers out there got the awesome opportunity to try out J.lynne Cosmetics. I was contacted by Jess, the owner, a little after the start of last month and once I read the site I couldn't wait to try out the products. It is a natural cosmetics company creating cruelty-free makeup products. Their motto is "purely beautiful, naturally you" How cute is that?! I'm all for natural makeup and since I haven't really ventured into the whole "mineral makeup" thing too much, I knew this would be a great way to start. As you all know I'm not much of a blush girl because nothing ever seems to look right on me BUT Jess sent me samples of the Latin Rhythms Collection and I do believe I have found a few shades that I totally LOVE! So here's a pic of the whole collection of colors...

The name are: Samba, Flamenco, Cha Cha, Mambo, Paso Doble and Bolero

My first impression of these is that they are sooooo soft and really pigmented. They are also really easy to blend, my favorites so far are Flamenco and Paso Doble. I've used them quite a few times and I like the little flush they give my cheeks, it's different for me since I'm not used to wearing blushes but I may be hooked now!!

If you would like to check out J.lynne Cosmetics go Here and I totally think you should! =)

Thank you SO much Jess!!

My First Tutorial: Cranberry.

Happy New Year Everyone!! I hope this is an AMAZING year for you all!

I thought I would start off the year by doing my first tutorial, it was a lot harder than I thought and I kept changing my mind about how I should post it. I made it into a video but some of the text on certain photos are hard to read so next time I think I'll just post the pics instead or do the vid a different way. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know!! I did it on the Cranberry EOTD I posted a little while back. So here it is...

video
